What is Micro Needling

Micro needling is a cosmetic procedure that is used to encourage collagen production using small sterilized needles. Micro punctures are made with these miniature sterilized needles.

Benefits

It rejuvenates and plumps the skin with little downtime (it is adjusted to fit each person's needs).

It helps to smooth uneven skin tone, firms and tones skin and improves the appearance of scars, acne and wrinkles as well as reducing enlarged pores.

3 - 4 sessions is usually recommended.

Targeted area

Mostly on face. It may be used on scarring on other parts of the body as well.

Side effects

Like all cosmetic procedures, Micro Needling carries some risks. The most common side effect is minor skin irritation following the procedure. It may be red and feels like sunburn.

Contra indication

Certain skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema; wounds; skin that received radiation therapy recently or have a history of skin scars and taking blood thinners.

What to expect after micro needling

A little skin irritation and redness - this is a natural response. After the third day your skin could feel dry and tight (then you would exfoliate). After about a week the texture should be smoother and the pores smaller and the skin glowing.

Let your skin heal before applying make up. Wait 72 hrs if possible. Your skin will be sensitive to sun. Apply sunscreen diligently.

Optimal results can be expected in about 4 to 6 weeks.
